Dear LT Perez, On behalf of the FBI New Haven Citizens Academy Alumni Association, I would like to thank you for taking part in our Active Shooter/Threat Preparation Workshop at Fairfield University yesterday. The Workshop seems to have been a big success and in great part, because of your fabulous presentation and incredible insight into this serious subject matter. You certainly sparked a lively involvement among all of those in attendance and I saw how engaged the audience had become during your talk and presentation. It was an honor for all of us to be able to hear your ideas and interesting experiences, and actual situations that have taken place. The literature you brought was just great, we so appreciate it. I wanted to take a moment to congratulate you on yet another outstanding presentation covering the vital matter of protecting yourself in violent situations. As you know, I was so impressed by your presentation for the fire department employees, I asked you to run another session at the fire training center. The friends, family, educators and Fairfield CERT members that were in attendance last Thursday evening had all positive things to say about the session. It was both enlightening and educational. This is a topic everyone should think about in an effort to prepare themselves for a threatening situation. It is obvious that you have spent an enormous amount of time researching this topic and accumulating facts and advice for your presentation. Your experience and dedication are evident and your ability to engage the audience is a gift. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us. Gratefully,"Denise SherwoodAdministrative Assistant Fairfield Fire.Dept.. | Fairfield Regional Fire School , Fairfield, CT
