Dear LT Perez, On behalf of the FBI New Haven Citizens Academy Alumni Association, I would like to thank you for taking part in our Active Shooter/Threat Preparation Workshop at Fairfield University yesterday. The Workshop seems to have been a big success and in great part, because of your fabulous presentation and incredible insight into this serious subject matter. You certainly sparked a lively involvement among all of those in attendance and I saw how engaged the audience had become during your talk and presentation. It was an honor for all of us to be able to hear your ideas and interesting experiences, and actual situations that have taken place. The literature you brought was just great, we so appreciate it. It was also a great pleasure to meet you and I hope we can work together again, so many more citizens can benefit tremendously from hearing yesterday's presentation and the other topics you spoke about.

Columbia University's 160 professional and student para-professional Residential Life staff benefited greatly from Lt. Jim Perez's dynamic, interactive Active Shooter training. Lt. Perez's training allowed our team to develop a better sense of situational awareness, which only serves to keep our community safer while allowing individuals to be more prepared to respond if, or when, confronted with a real-life emergency. Lt. Perez is an amazing presenter, who is able to tailor his training to any organization.

On behalf of the Town of Essex and the Emergency Management Department, we would like to thank you for Lt. Jim Perez’s excellent Active Shooter presentation at the Essex Town Hall. This presentation provided information that will significantly help to improve our ability to be aware of potential threats and hazards in our community, how to identify and how to report suspicious activity. We thought the presentation was excellent. Again, we wish to thank you.

I wanted to take a moment to congratulate you on yet another outstanding presentation covering the vital matter of protecting yourself in violent situations. As you know, I was so impressed by your presentation for the fire department employees, I asked you to run another session at the fire training center. The friends, family, educators and Fairfield CERT members that were in attendance last Thursday evening had all positive things to say about the session. It was both enlightening and educational. This is a topic everyone should think about in an effort to prepare themselves for a threatening situation. It is obvious that you have spent an enormous amount of time researching this topic and accumulating facts and advice for your presentation. Your experience and dedication are evident and your ability to engage the audience is a gift. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us. Gratefully,

Jim: Your violence prevention training at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library today was outstanding. As you well know we do feel vulnerable at the libraries and it gave us good pause today to really take responsibility for our own welfare as well of those of the patrons. Thanks once again,,
